Kew Green designed and built this new-build garden in Grove, Oxfordshire, creating practical spaces for relaxing, planting and growing produce. Egyptian Beige porcelain paving forms the main terrace, while curved planting beds, stepping stones and Corten steel edging connect it with the existing lawn and a separate kitchen-garden area.
The Brief: A New-Build Garden in Grove, Oxfordshire
The brief was to turn the new-build plot into a more useful and welcoming garden, with space to sit outdoors, areas for planting and a dedicated place to grow fruit and vegetables. The existing lawn was retained and incorporated into the new layout.
The Solution
Kew Green laid an Egyptian Beige porcelain terrace beside the house and used Corten steel edging to give the planting beds a clean, defined finish around the existing lawn. Stepping stones provide a direct route across the grass, while timber pergolas and trellis panels add height and divide the main garden from the productive growing area.
A Dedicated Kitchen Garden
The rear section of the garden was organised around a greenhouse and raised beds built from softwood sleepers. A gravel surface provides practical access in all weather, while trellis screening separates the growing area without making it feel enclosed.

Planting and Structure
New planting beds were created around the terrace, lawn and boundaries, with small trees, shrubs and herbaceous plants providing structure and seasonal colour. Trellis panels and timber pergolas give climbing plants support as the garden matures. New timber fencing and gates complete the boundaries and provide secure access to the garden.
