Family Garden Design and Build in Abingdon
This Abingdon garden was designed and built to create a practical, welcoming outdoor space for everyday family life. Porcelain paving, French grey limestone setts, a new lawn, generous planting and a pergola with Millboard decking combine to give each part of the garden a clear purpose.
The Brief
This garden needed a complete redesign to create a practical, welcoming space for family life. The aim was to improve how the different areas connected, replace the boundary fencing and introduce dedicated spaces for relaxing, entertaining and everyday use. The design also needed to balance durable hard landscaping with a new lawn and generous planting.
Before
The existing garden had an open lawn, tired fencing and no clearly defined areas for relaxing, dining or planting.
The Finished Garden
The finished garden is now a welcoming and easy-to-use space where the family can relax, entertain and spend time together. Clear zones give every part of the garden a purpose, while the planting brings colour, softness and seasonal interest. The result feels modern and structured without losing the warmth of a family garden.
The new layout gives the family several ways to enjoy the garden. The lawn provides open space, while the pergola and Millboard decking create a separate area for sitting and relaxing.
