Elevating Family Living: A Garden Transformation in Ladder Hill, Wheatley

Welcome to our latest garden project in Ladder Hill, Wheatley, where we embraced the challenge of transforming a steeply sloping garden into a contemporary oasis for a young family. In this blog post, we invite you to explore the journey of how we turned this space into a place for relaxation, enjoyment, and family interaction.

Stepped Walkways: Conquering the Slope

One of the primary challenges of this project was the steep slope. To address it, we designed stepped walkways that connect large raised planters on multiple levels. This innovative approach not only adds a unique architectural element to the garden but also ensures easy navigation of the space.

Contemporary Charm for All Ages

Our goal was to create a contemporary space that caters to the needs of a young family. This garden was meant to be a place where relaxation, enjoyment, and interaction could seamlessly coexist.

The Heart of the Garden: Outdoor Fireplace

The main space, extending from the house and pool room, is centered around a striking outdoor fireplace. It features a stainless-steel fire surround and is adorned with oyster stacking stone. Flanked by two cube stainless-steel planters, it exudes both warmth and style.

Enclosure and Open Space

The walkways between raised planters provide a sense of enclosure, creating intimate pockets within the garden. This feeling of seclusion gradually opens up to a vast paved space where you can soak in the beauty of the Oxfordshire countryside from the comfort of an outdoor sofa.

Interactive Planting for All Ages

The planting in the garden isn't just for aesthetics; it's designed to be fun and interactive for children. The selection of plants is curated to attract insects and other wildlife, adding an educational and lively dimension to the outdoor space.
