This award-winning garden transformation in Headington, Oxford, created a stylish and practical outdoor space designed to be easy to maintain. Marshalls Symphony porcelain paving, structured planting beds and a porous gravel area brought the garden together, while retaining the existing mature tree as a key feature.

The Brief

The aim was to transform a tired and awkward garden into a clean, contemporary space that would be easy to maintain. The new layout needed durable surfaces, improved planting and a practical way to retain the existing mature tree as part of the finished design.

The Solution

The garden was reorganised using large-format Marshalls Symphony porcelain paving to create clean, practical routes and usable outdoor areas. A porous gravel base was installed for a future greenhouse, while carefully positioned planting softened the hard landscaping without creating demanding maintenance.

Award-Winning Result

The completed garden received a Marshalls Register Regional Award in 2020/21 for the design and installation of a patio under 30 square metres. The award recognised the quality of the workmanship and the effective use of materials within a compact garden.
